Westwood High School International Development Project
The grade 11 Westwood High School students hosted a barbecue at the ball park last Friday to help raise money for next years IDP trip. It was a great success, the softball players had a good time and the students enjoyed serving pulled pork, drinks and hot dogs.
They are raising money so they can go to Oaxaca Mexico to rebuild a Medical Centre that was destroyed by Termites. There are only 42 people in the village and 12 houses. It is situated in the mountains and they can only get to it by donkey because the roads are too steep to travel by car. A special thanks to Hudson Cunninghams Pub for supporting the students and this event. If you are inspired by this initiative and would like to support the students, they will be throwing more fundraisers throughout the year. I'll keep you posted!
